WHD.sailing is designed by industry leaders FOR industry leaders in one of the most beautiful locations in Europe. Join us for an event that you will not forget.
Content customized for you as an Industry Leader ... things which matter. The complete agenda and additional details will be completed soon.
Sit side-by-side with your fellow business leaders — you need real information, clear insight, and open communication to bring value to your organization and develop solid objectives. Develop a network of peers and trusted advisers to help you succeed in a consolidating market.
After all the discussions and networking are done for the day, enjoy an afternoon on the high seas in real racing yachts sailing in the Baltic Sea. Channel your inner captain or pirate, or just sit back and enjoy the beauty of plying the waters in luxury.
The historic Kieler Yacht Club was founded in 1887 by officers of the Imperial German Navy. Located in the seaside town of Kiel, it is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Europe. It is well known for hosting some of the region’s most exciting ocean sports event, including the Kieler Woche (Kiel Week)—arguably the largest sailing event in the world—and the sailing competitions for the 1972 Olympic Games.
The Hotel Kieler Yacht Club is one of the most venerable houses in the city of Kiel. It has always been closely associated with the sport of sailing and is filled with relics of the early days of the Imperial Yacht Club. All of that history has drawn dignitaries and sports fans from around the world, including Spanish King Juan Carlos, Greece’s former King Constantine, and King Carl Gustav of Sweden who all stayed here when they came to watch the Olympic Games.
Dreaming Big In A World Without Limits
Laura Dekker is the youngest person to sail around the world … solo … traversing 27,000 miles over two years … finishing at the age of 16. While her peers were hanging music posters on their bedroom walls, Laura was purchasing her first sailboat and outfitting it for the open sea. Her inspiring story was documented in the 2013 film “Maidentrip” that dramatically presents the obstacles she has overcome living the dream … her dream.

Does Company Culture Hold You Back or Drive You Forward?
Matthias Henze, CEO and Co-Founder, Jimdo
In just nine years Jimdo has jumped from zero to more than 15 million websites on their hosting and site-builder platform. How did they manage that raging success? If you ask CEO and co-founder Matthias Henze, he’ll skip all the technical details about codebase and infrastructure clouds and start talking about their amazing company culture. All decisions flow through culture — from the tasks they work on and how they market their products to the transparent operating structure and even the food served at lunch. According to Matthias, company culture is the rocket engine that makes Jimdo go.

Beyond simply online presence
Wilfried Beeck, CEO, ePages
For almost all SMBs, their online presence and website content are a vital part of their business success. However, these are not the only elements, and rather should be embedded within an overall digital strategy that includes digital transactions, visibility on search engines and marketplaces, social media, mobile apps and last but not least, traditional face-to-face customer interactions. This session will showcase best practice examples of how web hosts can profit from such SMB needs.
