WHD.global’s Theme for 2017 is “Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll”

We’re excited to announce that “Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll” is the theme for the 2017 WHD.global festival.

Revolutions have often involved rebellious music and subversive art. In one way or another, Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll becomes the order of the day. And history repeats itself.

The counter-culture movement of the 1960s led to increased civil rights and other social change. And the internet has had a similarly revolutionary effect on society.

The internet is dangerous, sexy, and changing everything. People have used internet technologies to challenge the mainstream – and have often faced huge opposition from governments, traditional industries and other powerful institutions. It’s also taken technologies in new and exciting directions.

At WHD.global, we will present you the most exciting things happening on the web with the Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll theme.

At WHD.global 2017, you’ll be able to hear about exciting topics like how the largest community of guitarists on the web crowdsources chords and tabs for songs, and how content gets delivered to visitors of the largest adult-oriented websites. We’ll be revealing specific presentations that fit into the Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll theme over the next few weeks.

Rebellion and excitement is something that first attracted many of us to the internet industry, and we want to reignite that feeling at WHD.global 2017. See you there!
